Ripple, one of the most popular blockchain companies in the crypto market, shared that they have opened their first office in Canada and are now working all over the world, according to the announcement they made on Wednesday.
Based in Toronto, this new office will serve as the company’s “main engineering centre.” Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says that there are many talented young people in the country’s most populous city.
Ripple shared with investors that it aims to recruit “hundreds” of young blockchain software engineers in the long term and that they will make great strides in the development of the crypto industry in Toronto.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said his company will continue to recruit, unlike other major cryptocurrency companies like Coinbase, which have drastically reduced their workforce.
In a statement, Garlinghouse notes that many young and talented engineers are starting to leave traditional finance to enter the cryptocurrency space.
Toronto Mayor John Tory praised Ripple’s “innovative technology” and said he believes the major blockchain company will “fit perfectly” with the city of Toronto.
Before Ripple opened its first office in Canada, he said that they collaborated with several Canadian universities as part of the “Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI)” program and will continue to grow gradually.
Opening offices in Miami and Dubai in 2021, Ripple aims to bring blockchain technology to many parts of the world to help the crypto industry develop.
